Niner Bikes Offers Limited Bike Run For IMBA

Published February 6, 2008

LOS ANGELES, CA (BRAIN)—Niner Bikes will paint 25 frames and matching forks with a very special theme and will sell these very limited edition frames to raise money for the charity of their choice.

Niner's first charity will be IMBA.

“For us, IMBA was the obvious first choice for this project,” said Chris Sugai, Niner co-founder. “They are the voice of our sport and do an amazing job getting out there to save and build sustainable trails. Their core values represent what Niner is all about.”

For IMBA, Niner will paint 25 M.C.R. 9 frames and matching Reynolds rigid forks with an "IMBA" themed paint job. What is an IMBA themed paint job? Niner is asking riders to submit what they think an IMBA themed paint job is. The possibilities are endless; the only rule is that somewhere, somehow, the IMBA logo be used in the paint scheme.

“We are really excited about this collaboration,” said Matt O'Connor, IMBA's development coordinator. “This is a unique and cool way for a cycling company to support IMBA and trail stewardship while spreading the good word on the ground. We are psyched to see the finished product. These will be collector's items.”

To enter the contest, go to www.ninerbikes.com, read the rules and use the M.C.R. 9 frame and fork template to create an "IMBA" themed paint scheme. The winner will win one of the limited edition frame and fork combos and see their artwork painted onto 25 more frames. The winner will be announced on February 29.
