Scott sponsors Windham World Cup • Alpine Bike Parks offers engineered bike park features • Primal Wear sponsors IMBA World Summit • Former world champ Fabien Barel joins E*Thirteen

SUN VALLEY, ID (BRAIN) Tuesday May 8 2012 12:37 PM MT—Scott Sports announced Tuesday that is the new title sponsor of the Windham World Cup Cross Country Race, being held June 28-July 1 in Windham, New York.

The Windham event is the only round of the UCI World Cup to be hosted in the United States.

"SCOTT Sports has several programs contesting the MTB World Cup," said Adrian Montgomery. "We have two XC Teams and a DH Team, all of which will be racing in Windham."


Alpine Bike Parks offers engineered bike park features

WHISTLER, BC (BRAIN) Tuesday May 8 2012 12:42 PM MT—Alpine Bike Parks is offering engineered bicycle playground structures for new or existing bike parks.

The FlowForm features have steel frames and concrete foundations and are available in a range of sizes and shapes.

"Our goal is to provide recreation managers with a clearly superior bike park product that is popular with riders, aesthetically beautiful, and extremely durable," said Alpine's founder, Judd de Vall.

The features can be moved and reinstalled as bike park trends evolve and they can be shipped.

Alpine also offers custom site design, location plans, installation team management, and installation services.

The FlowForm features already are being used at parks in Boulder, Colorado; Humbolt, California; and Victoria, British Columbia.


Primal Wear sponsors IMBA World Summit

DENVER, CO (BRAIN) Tuesday May 8 2012 12:48 PM MT—Primal Wear is sponsoring the IMBA World Summit in Santa Fe, New Mexico, this fall and is holding a jersey contest to solicit artwork from cyclists around the world.

The sponsorship includes apparel and cash contributions equaling $15,000.

"We're very fortunate to have a close relationship with IMBA through years of partnerships in our shared home state of Colorado and elsewhere," said Dave Edwards, Primal Wear founder and CEO. "We're honored to be sponsoring the World Summit at this level, and we're looking forward to attending and learning more about the recent challenges, successes and future plans of IMBA."

In the jersey contest, three finalists' designs are now on the IMBA Facebook page where voting is under way to choose a winning design, which Primal will produce as the official event jersey.

"Primal has been a fantastic supporter of IMBA going way above and beyond their membership dues to sponsor the 2012 IMBA World Summit," said IMBA Development Director Rich Cook.

"They have also created a custom jersey program for our chapters and affiliates that helps them raise money for trails projects. This kind of support really fuels our mission."


Former world champ Fabien Barel joins E*Thirteen

PETALUMA, CA (BRAIN) Tuesday May 8 2012 3:13 PM MT—Former world downhill champion Fabien Barel is joining E*Thirteen as the company's media spokesman and drivetrain/component brand ambassador.

“Fabien is not only a savvy media guru, but he has a very keen understanding of MTB components that we can use in our development cycles as well,” said George Dubois, the company's engineering director.

E*Thirteen and the Hive design and manufacture wheels, pedals, cranksets, chainrings, bottom brackets, drivetrain protection, and chain retention products.
