VSF hires Uwe Wöll

AURICH, Germany (BRAIN) Monday April 23 2012 9:34 AM MT—Germany’s trade organization Verbund Service und Fahrrad, or VSF, has hired Uwe Wöll to supervise products and organize trade fairs and annual meetings.

Wöll previously worked as a product manager for Zwei plus Zwei, a company specialized in cycling and family mobility.

VSF tracks bicycle sales figures and ridership statistics in Germany. Its staff of nine also concentrates on marketing and PR, product management, member service, communication, VSF academy and lobbying.

"We are delighted to have such an experienced person as Wöll joining our team, who knows the bicycle industry from different perspectives,” said Albert Herresthal, managing director of VSF. "The activities of VSF have grown rapidly in the past years; we needed a staff increase. With Uwe Wöll in the team, we now have an employee who has run his own bicycle shops during 16 years and brings both a high level of technical skills and a deep knowledge of the situation of the VSF-members."

Wöll can be reached at woell@vsf-mail.de.

Lambert enrolls in SmartEtailing Supplier Sync program

LEVIS, QUEBEC (BRAIN) Monday April 23 2012 9:38 AM MT—Canadian distributor Lambert has enrolled in SmartEtailing’s Supplier Sync. With this program, Lambert's inventory syncs to SmartEtailing's master catalog to display a much broader selection of what Lambert has in stock, with updates every 15 minutes.

The system also blends with the store’s inventory for those stores that share their point-of-sale inventory with SmartEtailing. Store inventory appears with an availability status of “In Store;” Lambert’s inventory is displayed as “In Warehouse.

“We strongly believe in a model in which brick and mortar stores are still the central point of the interaction with the consumers. Retailers’ websites become a complement to satisfy consumers who enjoy shopping online for convenience—but still want retailer expertise for service, fitting and warranty support,” said Sylvain Caya, Lambert's general manager.
