Specialized hires Megan Tompkins

MORGAN HILL, CA (BRAIN) Tuesday April 10 2012 9:19 AM MT—Specialized has hired Megan Tompkins as public relations manager for the U.S. market.

Tompkins will be responsible for all U.S. market-facing communications including media, retailer and consumer outreach. She will also manage marketing and business development for the company's women’s business.

“I am thrilled to be able to put my communications background to work for a brand that understands and believes in the power of storytelling,” said Tompkins. “I am looking forward to working with Specialized retailers and partners and communicating key brand initiatives and programs.”

Tompkins spent seven years as the editor of Bicycle Retailer and Industry News, directing the editorial content for the print magazine, website and social media outlets. Most recently, she handled OEM sales for key accounts for Shimano.

“Megan brings a high level of professionalism and understanding of the rider and our industry to the Specialized brand. She will play an instrumental role on our U.S. marketing team,” said Kirk Richardson, Specialized's U.S. general manager

Tompkins will represent Specialized starting at the Sea Otter Classic.
