OLATHE, KS (BRAIN)—Garmin has just introduced a new Authorized Fitness Reseller Program.
"We are creating an 'Authorized Reseller List' and will require all distributors not to sell any Garmin MAP/MRP products to resellers who are not approved or have had their approved status revoked," said Justin McCarthy, media relations for Garmin.
Accounts that wish to continue to purchase Garmin MAP/MRP products must send in the new application by Nov 1. After that date, Garmin will not allow any account to purchase Garmin without prior approval and being listed on the Authorized Reseller List.
"This program has been established to help protect the independent bicycle dealers from unauthorized retailers from selling and degrading the value of our products and brand," McCarthy said. "It also gives the IBDs a complete understanding of what their requirements are regarding our programs, warranties, and pricing policies, and we will be able to better communicate with each account about new products, price changes, product training, and POP and Merchandising."
