POMONA, CA (BRAIN)—In another industry first, the 2011 Recumbent Cycle-Con Convention & Trade Show is featuring a Recumbent Dealer of the Year Award. The award is sponsored by Recumbent & Tandem Rider Magazine.
Each of the exhibiting manufacturers at Recumbent Cycle-Con is being asked to submit a list of their top ten dealers, based on whatever criteria the manufacturer chooses-best customer service, most units sold, highest dollar volume, etc. Once the nominations have been collected, officials with Recumbent & Tandem Rider will review the submissions and determine a winner. The deadline for manufacturers to submit their dealer list is October 1.
"The selection criteria is important," said Chuck Coyne, publisher of RTR Magazine. "Selling recumbents is like selling any kind of bicycle. It's not all sales. It includes a lot of customer service, following up, knowing your customer. These are the things we want to evaluate and recognize."
The winner will receive an engraved trophy to display in their store. Press releases will be sent out to the industry publications and they will be profiled in an upcoming issue of Recumbent & Tandem Rider.
"Recumbent manufacturers rely on their dealer networks to promote and sell their product," added Coyne at RTR Magazine. "They rely on dealers to make repairs and educate consumers. They are an important and vital link in the chain."
