Showers Pass Moves to New Portland Location

Published June 29, 2011

PORTLAND, OR (BRAIN)—Showers Pass is moving its headquarters to a new, bigger and better space.

The new space, located in the Southeast industrial district, will double the company's office and warehouse capacity. The new facility is located at 2101 SE 6th Ave. in Portland.

Showers Pass needed a larger facility due to continued growth of the company's clothing sales as well as its recent introduction of VelEau, a new bicycle-mounted hydration system. VelEau hits retail shelves in early July and will be available for purchase at REI stores and bike shops across the country.

The new office/warehouse space is not a retail location. Showers Pass products are available at bike shops, specialty retailers and www.showerspass.com.

With assistance from the Portland Development Commission (PDC), Hennebery Eddy Architects, and Roy Miller of ARH Custom Homes, Showers Pass has completely redesigned their new office/warehouse. Located blocks from the Eastbank Esplanade and the new Milwaukie Light Rail and East Side Streetcar, this central eastside location–part of the city's Central Eastside Urban Renewal Area–will be more accessible by bike and public transit.

Showers Pass also worked closely with the PDC, using PDC matching grants for feasibility work, facade improvements, and to secure a loan for tenant improvements – resulting in the expanded, 8,000 square foot office/warehouse. The company has also partnered with the PDC in the agency’s work for both the athletic and outdoor industry cluster and entrepreneurial development.

“I’m very pleased to see Showers Pass expanding its headquarters office here in Portland. We welcomed the opportunity to provide assistance through PDC’s business programs,” said Portland Mayor Sam Adams. “The company is well positioned to add jobs and talent to our growing athletic and outdoor industry cluster.”
