WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, VT (BRAIN)—Ibex Outdoor Clothing has opened a West Coast office in Emeryville, California, to oversee production and manufacturing at the company’s factories in and around the Bay Area. Its main headquarters are in White River Junction, Vermont.
Ibex opened the 2,500 square-foot office space to better manage the company’s raw materials flowing in and out of each Northern California factory. Ibex currently works with factories located in Emeryville, Oakland, and San Leandro in Northern California as well as one factory in Los Angeles.
“We felt it necessary to open an office on the West Coast to support our U.S. production, which is approximately 75 percent of our garment supply,” said John Fernsell, founder and CEO of Ibex. “We have grown to the point where it became essential to have a West Coast operation. It also enables us to be a better partner with our cut and sew
facilities.”
Ibex West has two full-time employees Whitney Zinni (technical product manager) and Jay Mack (production manager), both of whom are responsible for managing the multiple facets of the day-to-day production in Ibex’s domestic Bay Area factories. Zinni and Mack report to Chris Leyes, global production manager for Ibex.
“Ibex’s new West Coast office allows us to have increased visibility and management of our raw materials, particularly zippers and trims,” Leyes said. “As we work towards establishing production with additional factories in the Bay Area, it is crucial for the company to have full-time Ibex people based there to help with this process.”
