SAN DIEGO, CA (BRAIN)—NiteRider Technical Lighting Systems has teamed up this week with Mike’s Bikes in Sausalito, California, and the Marin County Bicycle Coalition to promote the fun side of night cycling and specifically the importance of commuter safety.
Located on the busy commute route between Marin County and San Francisco, Mike’s Bikes will host a three-day program where riders can stop by the NiteRider Bike Commute Pit Stop located on the bike path adjacent to Mike’s Bikes, check out the display of lights, grab a warm beverage for the cold commute and most importantly, check to make sure their light set up is making them safer.
“Not only is bike commuting good for your health, it saves money and it’s good for the environment. But at NiteRider, we also care about rider safety and we want to remind people that lights help save lives,” said NiteRider Technical Lighting Systems director of sales and marketing Mike Ely. “We are excited to team up with Mike’s Bikes and the Marin County Bike Coalition in such a cycling-minded community.”
Several events will take place over the three-day period. Each afternoon, the first 25 riders that stop by and tell NiteRider they want to “discover the night” will win a free Lightning Bug headlight. Those who sign up for a Marin County Bike Coalition membership will be entered to win a MiNwet.150 Cordless valued at $100. The team will be hosting night rides in the Marin Headlands. Intro to Night Riding will depart on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and the Advanced Night Ride will take place the same time on Thursday night.
