Published January 25, 2011

VAN NUYS, CA (BRAIN)—Easton-Bell Sports has named Steve Bigelow as president of its Action Sports division.

Bigelow will report directly to Paul Harrington, president and CEO of Easton-Bell Sports, and will lead the company’s Action Sports business unit located in Scotts Valley, California, which includes the Giro, Bell, Blackburn and Easton Cycling brands.

“Steve has a proven track record of delivering results and played a critical role in transforming Action Sports into a more effective operating unit over the past year,” said Harrington. “We are confident Steve can build on this success in the future and elevate each of his portfolio brand’s performance for consumers and retail partners.”

“Action Sports’ current structure, which was organized by sales and distribution channels rather than by brand, served the business well for the past decade,” said Bigelow. “I’m looking forward to taking the next step to increase our competitive edge by better understanding what customers, athletes and enthusiasts want and by making them the focal point of Action Sports’ brands.”

Bigelow joined Easton-Bell Sports in August 2002 as a director of sales, a position he held until he was promoted to vice president, sales for mass distribution in 2005. In 2008, he was appointed executive vice president and general manager and in 2010 he added oversight for specialty sales to his responsibilities. Prior to 2002, he was responsible for sales and marketing of a number of different brands during his 12 years at Revlon, holding a variety of positions.
