HELSINKI, Finland (BRAIN)—Mavic’s sales inched up 2 percent in the second quarter of the year and 5 percent for the first half of 2010.
Mavic’s Finnish owner, Amer Sports, reported sales of €25.1 million in its cycling division for the April to June period compared with €24.6 million for the same time last year.
For the first six months of the year, cycling collected €54.4 million, compared with €51.8 million in 2009, an increase of 5 percent.
In a 6-month earnings report, Amer said cycling sales growth was partially offset by poor spring weather conditions in Europe. Gross margins improved as a result of better production capacity utilization.
In the second period of the year, cycling sales accounted for 22 percent of Amer’s overall winter and outdoor business.
Amer owns Salomon, Wilson, Precor, Atomic, Suunto, Mavic and Arc’teryx.
