COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (BRAIN)—The second annual Peak Region Cyclist Bicycle Show hopes for even better results than last year when more than 500 people showed up.
Also, more than 40 vendors attended last year's show including Moots, Magura, Carmichael Training Systems and REI.
"Exhibitors were impressed with the type of people that showed up," said Jon Severson, founder of Peak Region Cyclist magazine, who puts on the show. "And retailers said they had been waiting 15 to 20 years for someone to do something like this."
Last year's show included companies exhibiting product, a bike swap area, small display of regional bike history, advocacy groups discussing trail building and a bicycle art area.
"I grew up in the Midwest back in the early '90s and miss the feel of those mountain bike races/scene," Severson said. "While this is open to all cycling disciplines, we strive for that same kind of feel."
This year's show is Saturday, March 6 in Colorado Springs.
