Bicycling's biggest boost could come from the next federal transportation bill, which could invest billions of dollars in new bicycling facilities of all kinds. This legislation will also support Safe Routes to School and a variety of city cycling programs that get people active, reduce traffic and pollution, and directly counter the startling increase in adult and child obesity.
