Published August 5, 2009

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (BRAIN)—West Coast GoldSprints Roller Racing has unveiled details of its upcoming Las Vegas event, the Kreitler Cup, to be held on Thursday, September 24, coinciding with Interbike ‘09.

A one-night showdown guaranteed to bring out the best in roller racing talent, the Kreitler Cup is sponsored by Kreitler Rollers, and produced by Murphy Mack, owner of West Coast GoldSprints Roller Racing.

Bringing together Interbike ’09 exhibitors, attendees and the general public, participants will compete in roller racing heats for over $10,000 in cash and prizes. Teams will be drawn from exhibitors at Interbike ’09, with wild card slots to be held open for Interbike attendees and the general public. GoldSprints roller racing, in which competitors race against each other in 500 and 1,000-meter sprints on track bikes affixed to rollers, is increasingly gaining popularity as an entertaining and competitive format that quickly demonstrates riders’ abilities.

“The Kreitler Cup is going to be an exciting night of explosive action,” said Paul Aieta, with Kreitler Rollers. “This is a fabulous opportunity to bring the intense competition of cycling to an arena where the audience can not only cheer on friends and heckle rivals but also participate in the hot action of the evening themselves. We’re excited to host our first ever Las Vegas GoldSprints roller racing event and look forward to the night being a knock-down, drag out success.”
