SNOWBIRD, UT (BRAIN)—Dealers from around the country arrive today at this four-season resort tucked in Utah’s Wasatch Range for three days of meetings and riding at the annual Specialized Dealer Event.
Several hundred dealers will fly into Salt Lake City and then be transported to Snowbird Resort in Little Cottonwood Canyon—the site where a prospector stumbled upon traces of silver. That touched off a mining spree that built a near instant city of 8,000 people.
Today, dealers rendezvous here to learn more about what Specialized has to offer for 2010. Dealers hope the company’s latest line of bikes and will put a gusher of silver, greenbacks and credit card slips into their cash registers. While Snowbird is unable to house everyone, nearby Alta will be home for others.
Besides getting a look at new Rockhoppers and Tarmacs, dealers will also get a chance to assess Specialized’s revamped Globe line of urban pavement bikes over the three-day dealer fly-in. Tonight, a welcome dinner kicks off the event followed by an evening of live music and karaoke.
