MILL VALLEY, CA (BRAIN)—Ben Capron, who was a partner with True Communications in the Bay Area, is returning to Specialized on a full-time basis.
True Communications founder Mark Riedy has also announced a renewed focus of the company’s business on public relations and brand marketing within the cycling business.
“We help the people that we work with increase their visibility with good, old fashioned public relations and by helping them figure out what to do with social media,” Riedy said. “The explosion of tools like Twitter and Facebook has changed the way that brands engage with the media, their employees, dealers and customers and we’re here to help our partners make the most of them.”
Riedy highlighted the services offered by True as: Media Relations, Social Media Engagement, Interactive Media/Blogger outreach, Content Creation, Community Development, Product Seeding and Product Launches.
Riedy’s announcement comes as True restructures its relationship with long-time client Specialized Bicycles. According to Riedy, True will continue to work with Specialized on a per-project basis, but has an immediate goal to develop a more diverse public relations business within the cycling industry.
Riedy was an editor with Rodale’s Bicycling and Mountain Bike magazines for nearly a decade where he developed the initial online presence for those brands. Since founding True in 2005, the company has been retained exclusively by Specialized Bicycles within the cycling industry.
