SE Bikes Bringing BMX Retro Back

Published June 4, 2008

PHILADELPHIA, PA (BRAIN)—For at least one BMX company retro is in.

A large part of SE Bikes’ resurgence can be attributed to the PK Ripper (pictured) and another 1980s legend—OM Flyer.

Sales for the 2008 model year are up 100 percent in dollars with a 60 percent increase in unit sales for the 2007 model year. Hence the need to order 75 percent more 2009 bikes.

“Our retro projects have really gotten a lot of people talking about the brand lately,” said Todd Lyons, brand manager for SE Bikes. “And not just in the BMX world. Go to any urban/street culture Web sites and do a search for SE Racing. You'll see all kinds of people praising our bikes. The SE brand is now considered cool well outside the BMX world.”
