MORGAN HILL, CA (BRAIN)—In the search for a pedal-powered solution to offset climate change, you may remember Specialized partnered with Google and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners to host the Innovate or Die Pedal-Powered Machine Contest.
Specialized asked contestants to develop a pedal-powered machine that would help minimize the amount of CO2 humans emit into the atmosphere every day.
Over 100 contestants posted their video entries on YouTube, including teams from top universities like MIT.
We were blown away by everyone's creativity as well as the amount of time and energy they invested in attacking global warming," said Specialized's founder and president Mike Sinyard. "I'm confident that through the power of the bicycle and innovative, inspirational contests such as this, we can improve the world and cool the planet. Everyone should check out the entries."
