Published December 31, 2007

LAGUNA HILLS, CA (BRAIN)-Nicole Formosa has joined Bicycle Retailer and Industry News as a reporter.

Formosa brings five years of journalism experience to the magazine, most recently working as a reporter for a daily newspaper in Colorado's Rocky Mountains.

There, she covered the ski industry, cops and courts, emergency services and the state legislature for three years. Her most interesting assignment took her halfway around the world to Cambodia to report on the efforts of a local nonprofit aid organization.

Formosa is looking forward to transitioning into the bike industry.

"I'm excited to become part of the BRAIN team. For me, this job is the perfect opportunity to combine my writing career with a sport I'm very passionate about. I'm eager to learn the ins and outs of the industry," Formosa said.

Formosa got her start in journalism as a television news producer for an ABC affiliate in Eugene, Oregon, where she worked for two years out of college.

She grew up in Oregon and graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism in 2001. She is very happy to be back on the West Coast after spending four years in Colorado.

In her free time, Formosa enjoys seeking out singletrack on her mountain bike, telemark skiing and making good use of her passport.

Formosa can be reached at (949) 206-1677 ext. 209, or at nformosa@bicycleretailer.com.
