BOULDER, CO (BRAIN)—Ten months of steady sales growth has paid off for Jen Soulé, who was recently promoted to sales manager for VeloPress. Soulé has already surpassed her sales goal for the company's fiscal year, and is on a pace to set a new sales record for the specialty book publisher.
"Jen's experience in retail, at Louisville Cyclery, and in distribution and marketing at RockShox, Titec and Veltec, has been an ideal combination as she develops our shop and wholesale accounts," said Ted Costantino, VeloPress publisher. "She has created retail programs for shops that make book sales more profitable and compelling. She's also revitalized our wholesale business with American Cycling Publications, Hawley, J&B, and QBP, as well as American Bike Trails."
Soulé received her MBA from the University of Colorado, Denver, in 2005 and joined VeloPress in September 2006 as wholesale manager. In addition to managing wholesale accounts and expanding international sales and distribution, she will now also contribute to inventory management and reprints, budgeting, brand management and events planning.
"Good reference books on cycling and bike repair are part of a bike shop's customer service experience, and at VeloPress we're fortunate to have a deep list of best-sellers," said Soulé. "We have series titles with lifetime sales of 160,000 and more, but I think some of my shops have been surprised by the breadth of our list in cycling and triathlon. As they've made a bit more space for books, they have been very pleased by the sales volume and turns."
