Published October 16, 2007

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN)—Ryders Eyewear recently announced the hiring of new U.S. Sales Manager, Gareth Richards.

Richards brings to the Ryders team a strong passion for the outdoors and solid sales team stewardship within the U.S. sporting channel. By hiring Richards, Ryders further demonstrates its commitment to strengthening the company’s presence in the U.S. cycling and active sports markets.

Richards’ passion for active sports and the sporting industry can be seen by his personal achievements, which include participating in a Mt. Everest expedition and reaching the South Summit, guiding kayak expeditions in Mexico, and directing outdoor programs for Prescott College and Cornell University.

During his role as vice president of sales for Mountainsmith, his team achieved impressive US sales growth and momentum. At Lowe Alpine Systems he was promoted from director of marketing to vice president of marketing and sales.

On the entrepreneurial side, Richards is the founder of OutdoorProlink.com, an e-commerce company providing extensive equipment to outdoor industry professionals.
Richards is based in Boulder, Colorado, which he and his family have called home for many years.

“We searched diligently to find a sales manager with Gareth’s skills and experience for the U.S. market,” said Ryders Marketing Manager, Kevin Greenwood. “We’re excited to have Gareth on our team and confident he will build our presence in the U.S. and continue to drive business for us in the cycling and active sports markets.”
