Published October 16, 2007

SAN CARLOS, CA (BRAIN)—Ritchey Design has hired a new marketing coordinator, Rosy Castañeda.

New to the cycling industry, but a veteran of the elite athlete’s mentality the industry constantly drives to tap for its parallels to business, she is a fresh force at Ritchey.

She excelled at high school athletics, playing soccer concurrently for multiple teams in addition to running cross country and track. She ran for Harvard University, Division 1 Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track where she set a school record in the Steeple Chase, competed in NCAA regional and national races and was captain of the 2005 track team. Her latest outlet for her sports passion is triathlons.

Castañeda aspires to a medical degree in the future but is eager to take this opportunity to acquire and refine skills in sales and marketing. She will also drive the women’s section of Ritcheylogic.com, coordinating content from its four sponsored women’s road teams.

Deterline left Ritchey in August to pursue his creative talents in the marketing/communications consulting arena.

Steve Parke, Ritchey/Syncros general nanager, will direct all of Ritchey and Syncros strategic marketing tasks with logistical support from Castañeda.
