Cyclocross to Visit Vegas During Interbike

Published October 16, 2007

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN)--DBC Events will be bringing a cyclocross race to the city of Las Vegas on the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 26--the first day of Interbike.

“We had great cooperation from the county to make it happen. I think it’s going to be a great show and great competition for the athletes,” said Brook Watts, co-owner of DBC Events.

Cross Vegas, as the event is billed, will feature two race categories: Elite Women and Elite Men. According to Watts, the Category 2 designation from the UCI will attract worldwide attention and interest from European riders, particularly those who were already planning a visit to Las Vegas for appearances at their sponsors’ booths.

Cross Vegas kicks off at 6 p.m., with the women’s race starting at 7:30 p.m. and the men’s race at 9 p.m. Watts said that several big names have confirmed their participation in the race.
