Chamois Butt’r launches new Ultra balm at Unbound Gravel

Published June 2, 2022

EMPORIA, Kan. (BRAIN) — Chamois Butt'r used the Garmin Unbound Gravel event here this week to announce its new Ultra balm, an anti-chafe balm that the company said is made for the most demanding conditions and the most extreme athletic endeavors.

Unlike previous Chamois Butt'r creams, the Ultra is not water-based. Instead it has a natural oil and beeswax base and is intended to stay in place during long, hot or wet rides.

"We spent six years perfecting Ultra balm's formula to be thicker than our anti-chafe creams for advanced protection and longer-lasting comfort. Basically, Ultra is made to be applied and stay where you put it. We worked to perfect this formula with a select group of experienced long distance and ultra endurance cyclists as well as everyday cyclists and bikepackers to ensure this balm was up to the test," the company said. The balm has natural peppermint oil that add a fragrance, but the balm does not produce a skin tingle.

It comes in 5-ounce cans that are intended to be re-used or recycled. Made in the USA.

MSRP: $29.95.
