Galeo offers US-made GPS bike tracker with cellular connection

Published August 17, 2021

FARGO, N.D. (BRAIN) — The Galeo Group has launched an anti-bike theft product: a GPS- and cellular network-connected device that can mount to a bike's water bottle cage holes or on the handlebar. The $249 device is made in Fargo and has also has a motion sensor, Bluetooth, an audible alarm and a companion mobile app.

The optional cellular service plan is activated through the app, available for Android or Apple. The device has a rechargeable battery that offers several weeks of life on a single charge.

"We invented this tracker because 2,000,000 bikes are stolen every year in North America but only 5% are recovered," said Jeff Johnson, President of The Galeo Group. "With the advent of new cellular technologies, we seized the opportunity to create a product with an affordable purchase and subscription price to protect any bike from loss or theft."
