BRANDON, Fla. (BRAIN) — Atomik Carbon now offers handbuilt aluminum wheelsets with Industry Nine hubs for gravel bikes.
The ALGR series is available in 700c and 650b options as rim-only or as a complete wheelset. The wheelsets start at $699 and also are spec'd with Sapim D-Light spokes. A Berd Ultimate spoke build is available as an upgrade.
Rim-only options start at $99.99.
The ALGR29 rim is made from 6066-T6 aluminum. The 700c and 650b versions have 29mm outer and 24.5mm inner diameters to accommodate a variety of gravel tires and are tubeless ready.
Rim weight for the 650b is 420 grams and 700c is 440 grams. The rims come with a two-year limited warranty. Complete wheelsets are 1,609 grams (650b) and 1,659 grams (700c). ALGR29 Ultimate Wheelsets with Berd spokes drop the weight to 1,405 grams for 650b and 1,465 grams for 700c.
Atomik offers a carbon upgrade program for the ALGR29 wheelset. Within two years of purchase, the original owner can upgrade to one of Atomik's carbon gravel rim options. Atomik will rebuild the wheel using the existing hubs, new spokes and nipples, and include labor and return shipping for the cost of the carbon rims.
