DENVER (BRAIN) — Alchemy Bikes’ newest full-suspension mountain bike is the carbon Arktos, designed for three travel configurations and two wheel sizes.
In development for more than two years, the Arktos has 29er and mixed-wheel 29/27.5 platform options.
- 130mm front/120mm rear (29er only).
- 150/135 (29er and mixed wheel).
- 170/150 (29er and nixed wheel).
The Arktos features modernized geometry with low standover to improve maneuverability and utilizes dual water-bottle mounts.
The frame, which has a lifetime warranty, is designed around David Earle’s patented dual-linkage suspension platform Sine. It’s regressive through the first part of the travel to absorb small bumps and provide climbing traction. It’s progressive in the middle and regressive again in the last 15% of the stroke.
Alchemy is accepting pre-orders now, with bikes available in May, starting at $5,499. Build kits will include SRAM GX Eagle and X01 Eagle and Shimano XT. Color options include charcoal/sunburst, gray/light gray, and sand/burnt orange.
