CARLSBAD, Calif. (BRAIN) — Spinergy's new GXX gravel wheels feature a new carbon rim design and the brand's PBO fiber spokes.
The new rim, manufactured in North America, has a 24mm internal width tubeless-ready profile that can handle tires up to 57mm. The rim has a foam core that adds strength and keeps out water, mud and dust.
The PBO fiber spokes are said to have three times the strength of steel at half the weight. They also are said to absorb vibrations for less rider fatigue and better control on rough surfaces.
The wheels have Spinergy's own CNC-machined hubs with sealed cartridge bearings, interchangeable end caps and cassette bodies, and center lock disc mounts.
The wheelset weighs 1,524 grams and retails for $999.
A special edition GXX wheelset has gold anodized hubs and ceramic bearings. Spinergy will offer 100 pairs of the special edition wheels, which retail for $1,199 and come with a padded wheelbag.
