POOLE, United Kingdom (BRAIN) — Muc-Off has developed a new antibacterial hand sanitizer that's designed in the United Kingdom but made in the U.S.
It will be released into Muc-Off's distribution network across the states this week and available in retail soon after.
"We are stoked to have been able to manufacture our first ever product in the U.S.," said Alex Trimnell, Muc-Off CEO. "We usually work under high pressure to create products that win bike races. Facing into the headwinds of the pandemic has been tough. With our performance background, we have stepped up a gear to be able to make and launch our new product in a matter of weeks."
With experience from creating the antibacterial dry body wash and Quat-based antibacterial equipment cleaner, Muc-Off created a hand sanitizer that helps tackle germs for people whether on-the-go, at home, or at work.
The hand sanitizer conforms to a World Health Organization recommended formula. With its 80% alcohol content, it kills 99.99% of bacteria, and high concentrations of alcohol destroy disease-causing agents and pathogens by breaking apart proteins and disrupting a cell's metabolism.
The quick drying high alcohol formulation is packaged in a portable 4-fluid-ounce drop bottle.
Muc-Off will donate 10% of profits from the new sanitizer to the WHO COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, which coordinates efforts against the spread. Muc-Off also has committed to donating 100,000 antibacterial products globally to front-line workers. This program has already started in the U.S. with donations being made across Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, South Carolina, and New York to medical teams, police and fire departments via Smart Warehousing which has provided logistics support to the Muc-Off team.
This new launch follows the recent introduction of a range of sanitizers and cleaners across Europe. Muc-Off plans to develop the range further for the U.S. and Canada in the near future.
It will be available throughout the U.S. and Canada from Muc-Off dealers, e-retailers and direct from us.muc-off.com.
