ST. PAUL, Minn. (BRAIN) — Midway Bicycle Supply is now offering a studded tire that fits classic road bikes with 27x1-3/8-inch tires.
Benita Warns, president of the distributor, said, " A number of customers asked where they could get studded tires to fit older road bicycles. We searched widely and were unable to find any manufacturers who offered that size, so we contracted to have a mold made and had the tires made for us," she said.
Each tire has 164 steel studs, and the word "Midway" is in raised letters on the sidewall. The tires retail for $69.95 each.
