The frame protection brand also produces in Canada, New Zealand, and Sweden.

WHISTLER, British Columbia (BRAIN) — RideWrap, a Whistler-based brand, is perhaps the bike industry's best example of a company manufacturing close to market.

The company recently opened production of its frame protection accessories in the United Kingdom, adding to existing production done in Canada, New Zealand and Sweden.

"Brexit introduced more than a few challenges to doing business in the UK," the company said. Those challenges include the VAT, import duties, and slow delivery times. Thus the UK production announced last month.

"The purpose of opening in local markets is to offer better shipping rates and faster fulfillment. It also gets us closer to the riders in the communities in those markets," said marketing manager Matt Tirrell.

The brand now offers next-day delivery and free-shipping options in the UK.

RideWrap film is said to be hydrophobic and self-healing: Minor marks and scuffs disappear with the warmth of a sunny day. It comes with a 10-year warranty against yellowing and cracking and is available in matte or glossy finish.

RideWrap sells through dealers and its own website.
