Raleigh pairs with DealerCamp for launch

Published December 2, 2011

KENT, WA (BRAIN)—Raleigh America will hold its annual sales meeting and 2013 dealer product launch in conjunction with Lifeboat Events’ DealerCamp next July in Park City, Utah.

Raleigh typically flies its top 50 to 100 dealers to see its new product line in its home state of Washington. The past two years it has hosted the event at the lush Suncadia Resort.

The move should be a welcome change for retailers who find it difficult to get away during their busy selling season and already travel to other dealer events held by Trek, Giant, Specialized and other brands in the summer months. Many of the dealers that attended the Suncadia event this year also went to DealerCamp, said Jake Hanson, spokesman for Raleigh.

Raleigh’s dealer event will start two days prior to DealerCamp, but bikes will be on display throughout the remainder of the outdoor demo. DealerCamp is scheduled for July 24-26.

“The Deer Valley venue is spectacular, and the timing really works to effectively launch our bicycles to a wide range of dealers and the cycling industry as a whole,” said Chris Speyer, Raleigh’s vice president of marketing, in a press release.

DealerCamp will also be the venue for Raleigh’s Midsummer Night’s Cyclocross Classic. The race debuted at Raleigh’s dealer event last July.

This year, Scott Sports and Cycling Sports Group flew in dealers for private product launches held during DealerCamp and while both have committed to exhibiting next year, DealerCamp’s Chris Zigmont said neither has confirmed that they will fly out dealers for a separate private event in 2012.
