ASHEVILLE, N.C. (BRAIN) — Cane Creek Cycling Components is permanently reducing the price of up to 25% on two more components about a year after dropping the price of its Tigon air-charged coil shock.
The alloy eeSilk Seatposts are now $199.99 MSRP (previously $229.99) and Stems are $149.99 (previously $199.99). The eeSilk line is designed for gravel, road, bikepacking, and commuter riders and utilizes different density elastomers to absorb chatter and vibration. According to Cane Creek, price was a barrier to reaching more riders.
"With rising costs since the pandemic and now tariffs, we're painfully aware of how expensive everything is becoming," said Brent Graves, Cane Creek president and CEO. "With the price reduction, we'll be making less money on eeSilk, sure, but we genuinely believe we will sell more by making the products more affordable. We believe in eeSilk and want more riders to experience it."
A Cane Creek spokesperson told BRAIN the brand will work with stocking retailers to hold the same margins and "to make sure they are comped with credits or reductions in the future to ensure they are getting good margin."
