DURANGO, Colo. (BRAIN) — Abra-Cadabra Fabrication, parent of the Sanitas Cycles brand, has acquired the Waterford and Gunnar brands from Richard Schwinn. The company will resume production of those brands this year at its facility in Durango.
Abra-Cadabra is owned by industry veteran John Siegrist, the former owner of Dean Cycles, his son, David Siegrist, and Brad Swaim. The Siegrists launched Sanitas in 2022.
Richard Schwinn and partner Marc Mueller founded Waterford in 1993 in the former Schwinn Paramount factory in Waterford, Wisconsin. The brand later launched the Gunnar brand and also did OE production for brands including Rivendell and Shinola. Waterford shut down in 2023.
"We're excited to blend Gunnar and Waterford's great designs and reputation with the capabilities of our team and facilities," said David Siegrist, who will lead the effort.

ideas to these brands but will still be guided by the wisdom borne of experience," said Richard Schwinn.
Swaim said Abra-Cadabra has acquired the Waterford and Gunnar intellectual property including its trademarks, frame designs, websites and other assets.
