TREVIGLIO, Italy (BRAIN) — Alberto Cavaggioni has been named general manager and CEO of Bianchi. He has more than 25 years of global management experience, most recently as CEO of RINA Consulting, an Italian engineering consultancy.

Cavaggioni will preside over Bianchi's new phase of strategic development following the completion of its new manufacturing facility in Treviglio that opened last year. The company will focus on continued European growth while placing emphasis on expansion across North America, Asia, and China.

He previously was marketing director at Iveco and led Alfa Romeo EMEA, and Maserati for Europe and China.

"This brand is a symbol of Italian excellence, with a remarkable legacy," Cavaggioni said. "The cycling industry is undergoing a profound transformation, and thanks to the passion and expertise of our people and the strength of our iconic products, Bianchi is ready to evolve and claim its rightful place in the global market. As in sports, it takes a great team to reach ambitious goals."

In addition to welcoming Cavaggioni, Bianchi President and owner Salvatore Grimaldi asserted the brand's ambitions with Grimaldi Industri AB Group, Bianchi's owner since 1997.

"Following a major transformation phase, marked by the creation of our new production facility — a cornerstone for Bianchi's future — our 140th anniversary signals the beginning of a new chapter, one that must be driven by ambition and passion," Grimaldi said. "Our goal remains clear: to grow while continuing to embody the essence of cycling around the world. We are confident that in Alberto we have found the right leader to guide Bianchi into a new era of success in our storied history."
