RAPID CITY, S.D. (BRAIN) — Strider Bikes will donate more than $100,000 in balance bikes to benefit 645 kids in local charities here, where the company is based.
The charities receiving the bikes are Black Hills Badges for Hope, Working Against Violence, CASA, the Black Hills Toy Drive, and to children in foster care in Meade and Pennington counties. The donation is aimed to benefit children living in a shelter or otherwise lacking resources to purchase balance bikes so they can learn how to ride.
"It's the first time we've done a donation of this size for the holidays," said Strider Bikes' Hannah Peterson. "We want to make a family's day and make a difference in a kid's life by giving them a confidence-building machine of their very own."
The bikes will be distributed throughout the community starting this week through the holidays.
