Published July 21, 2023

BERLIN (BRAIN) — Former Accell Group CEO Anthonie "Ton" Anbeek will join the board of Signa Sports United next April.

Anbeek left Accell in March this year after, about a year after Accell, the parent of bike brands Haibike, Winora, Ghost, Batavus, Koga, Lapierre, Raleigh, Sparta, Babboe and Carqon — was acquired by a group led by KKR

SSU is an e-commerce retailer that owns WiggleCRC, Nukeproof, Vitus, Bikester, Probikeshop and some other brands in the bike market, as well as e-commerce sites in tennis, outdoor and team sports.

Mike Özkan, Chairman of SIGNA Sports United, commented, "We are privileged to welcome Mr. Anbeek to our Board of Directors. His wealth of experience, strategic capabilities, and passion for the sports and bicycle industry are invaluable assets as we are returning our business to profitable growth."

Anbeek said, "It is my great pleasure to be asked to join the board of SSU. I have known SSU since the end of 2017 and have followed the company's success ever since with great interest. I am very motivated to contribute to the further development of SSU's future growth."
