QBP expands industry educational programs, renames Barnett Bicycle Institute

Published October 5, 2021

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (BRAIN) — Quality Bicycle Products will expand its U of Q online training library and networking events for retailers, shop employees, and aspiring technicians. The new U of Q education portfolio includes the U of Q Institute, formerly known as Barnett Bicycle Institute.

The U of Q Training Library is an on-demand education platform with video resources on industry brands, products, services, and business development. To assist shops and individuals amid a changing industry, U of Q Events offer opportunities for attendees to hone business skills, learn about the latest products and technologies, and network with other bike industry people.

“U of Q is a portfolio of opportunities that meets individuals and retailers where, when, and how they want to be met so they can thrive in every market,” said Aaron Stehly, QBP director of education. “Whether someone is seeking product knowledge and experience, business development, technical mechanic skills, and more — online or in-person — U of Q delivers the highest level of relevant and impactful education.”

The U of Q Institute is located in Colorado Springs, and its instructors provide in-person professional-grade technical education. QBP acquired Barnett Bicycle Institute from the National Bicycle Dealers Association for an undisclosed amount in 2019. John Barnett founded BBI in 1986; it was acquired by the NBDA in 2016.
