E-bike brand Evelo launches crowd-funding campaign to source PPE from China

Published April 3, 2020

SEATTLE (BRAIN) — Evelo, a Seattle-based e-bike brand, has access to personal protective equipment, including face masks, from some of its Chinese and Hong Kong suppliers. The company is now raising money through a GoFund me campaign to buy PPE through its vendors and distribute the supplies to local medical professionals.

Boris Mordkovich, the company's co-founder and CEO, said Evelo has already placed and received an order and now the company wants to expand it.

"Our goal is to use our relationships overseas to quickly source and distribute PPE to medical professionals and facilities that are most in need," he said. He said the supplies can generally be ordered and delivered to the U.S. within two weeks.

Mordkovich said he and his co-founder, Yevgeniy Mordkovich, personally donated $1,000 to the campaign. All funds will be used exclusively towards purchase and shipping costs.

Mordkovich said that medical professionals in need anywhere in the country can email him directly at boris@evelo.com. "Please send me a message with your information and what you need. We'll work to get you the supplies that you need as quickly as possible," he said.
