COTATI, Calif. (BRAIN) — Yuba Bikes has hired Justin Gottlieb to become director of American sales & marketing, and business leader.
Gottlieb's career spans the cycling, sporting goods, and medical device industries. Most recently he was with Interbike for six-and-a-half years. Prior to that he held leadership roles with American Bicycle Group, The Baby Jogger Company and Hudson Medical Products.
"The cargo bike category is in its infancy state in the Americas, while the momentum in Europe is steadily rising," said Benjamin Sarrazin, the founder and CEO of Yuba. "Justin's experience, maturity and strong relationships in the industry is what we need to help accelerate growth with our retail partners in the Americas. I'm excited to have him on-board, and I'm confident that our retailers will be as well."
Gottlieb will lead the U.S. operation based in Cotati, California, and will develop an outside sales team to help build relationships with the retail channel and drive sales. Additionally, he will provide leadership to the internal Yuba marketing team for all domestic efforts.
"I've been an advocate of the e-bike category for many years," said Gottlieb. "This, combined with my belief that the cargo segment presents a growth opportunity for retailers, makes for an exciting opportunity for me as well. I'm looking forward to working with Ben, the Yuba team and getting back to the supply-side of the business."
Separately, Yuba and Accell North America recently ended a distribution agreement that had been in place since 2014. Yuba will be the sole distributor in the Americas effective Jan. 1, 2020.
