NBDA plans webinar on de minimis reform

Published July 15, 2019

CHANDLER, Ariz. (BRAIN) — This Thursday, Specialized's Bob Margevicius will lead a webinar for bike retailers on de minimis, the minimum value threshold for U.S. Customs to begin charging duties on imports. The U.S. de minimis is currently $800 per day, much higher than most nations. Retailers say it makes it easy for offshore vendors to sell bike products into the U.S. without paying duties and state or local taxes.

Margevicius, executive vice president at Specialized, has followed the issue closely and conducted a seminar last fall at Interbike on the topic.

The webinar July 18 at 9 a.m. PST. It is free and a recording will be made available on the NBDA Member forum.
