The bikepacking brand marks a new step in its commitment to promoting conscious consumption by issuing impact receipts with every purchase, alongside the release of its 2025 Impact Report.
- Impact Receipts will be sent after every purchase made online by consumers as well as retail partners
- Buyers will get an itemised list of carbon emissions related to each product purchased, expressed in kilograms of CO2e
- The information included in the receipts is intended to help consumers make informed decisions about their purchases
- Apidura hopes to help normalise the sharing of product climate footprints across the industry
The launch of Impact Receipts coincides with the release of the brand's 2025 Impact Report.
While Apidura has included product-level detail on carbon emissions on its website since 2024, Impact Receipts go one step further by proactively communicating it to the customer post-purchase. The Receipt will be delivered in an email with an itemised list of carbon emissions related to each product purchased. Importantly, the calculation is based on the order itself rather than simply applying a generic figure to a single product.
Working with the Higg Index and Worldly, the calculation includes raw material processing, assembly, packaging, transportation, delivery and product end of life.
While the figures are interesting in themselves, Apidura believes the real value in sharing them is to help customers and retailers be better informed when making purchase decisions. Even though the receipts will not provide a straightforward comparison with competing bikepacking products, as few brands currently provide equivalent data, Apidura hopes that in taking this step, it will help to normalise the sharing of product climate footprints across the industry.
The launch of Impact Receipts follows 7 years of Apidura tracking its carbon footprint, which the brand started doing in 2019. Initially measuring Scope 1 emissions (direct CO2 emissions) and Scope 2 emissions (indirect emissions linked to energy use), Apidura expanded its measurements to include Scope 3 emissions (other indirect emissions) in 2021.
To coincide with the launch of Impact Receipts, Apidura has also released its 2025 Impact Report.
