New capability allows bicycle retailers and partner brands to reduce no-shows and streamline booking for service scheduling, warranty work, and mobile home delivery.
Los Gatos, Calif., (October 21, 2026) – Beeline Connect, the SaaS platform utilized by the largest independent network of bicycle retailers in North America, today announced the launch of an integrated deposit-taking feature across its scheduling ecosystem. The new enhancement enables bicycle retailers to collect upfront deposits directly through online scheduling for bicycle service appointments, warranty work, and mobile home delivery.
Available immediately to all 3,500 active retailer locations on the Beeline Connect network and integrated with dozens of brand partners, the feature further enhances the scheduling platform that is free to all bicycle retailers. As online scheduling becomes standard practice for the modern bike shop, last-minute cancellations and no-shows can severely impact mechanic utilization and operational profitability. With the new deposit-taking capability, retailers gain greater financial security and commitment from riders prior to reserving workshop time or dispatching mobile vans.
Key highlights of the new deposit-taking roll-out include:
- Bicycle Service Scheduling: Shops can set customizable deposit requirements for routine maintenance, tune-ups, and specialized repairs when riders book online through shop websites.
- Protected Trip Minimums For Mobile Shops: Using the deposit-taking capability mobile shop operators can now set customized amounts to protect minimum service fees appropriate for their individual businesses and markets.
- Free Marketing Upside: Service scheduling with deposits is enabled across the websites of dozens of brand partners like ALSO, Rad Power Bikes, Lectric Ebikes, Pedego and Priority Bicycles, which presents the retailer's service availability to new customers the retailer can opt into working with.
"Our mission has always been to simplify the connection between riders, local bike shops, and brands," said Neil Macc, Chief Revenue Officer at Beeline Connect. "By adding deposit-taking capability to our scheduling solutions, we're providing our retail partners with a powerful tool to protect their calendar, guarantee revenue for reserved mechanic time, and elevate the overall professionalism of bicycle service operations nationwide."
"Managing mechanics and shop schedules benefits from certainty," said Russ Hilton, Emobilize Bikes. "Being able to collect a deposit upfront through Beeline Connect drastically reduces no-shows and ensures our mechanics are focusing on committed riders who value quick turnarounds and professionalism."
The deposit-taking feature is now live and is included with all free Beeline Connect retailer accounts. Retailers can activate and customize their deposit fee rules directly within their Beeline Connect online dashboard.
