BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. — The 16th Annual Tour de Big Bear returns to Big Bear Mountain Resort July 31 through August 2, 2026, bringing together thousands of cyclists, families, outdoor enthusiasts and industry brands for Southern California's premier high altitude cycling festival.
Hosted by the Big Bear Cycling Association, the Tour de Big Bear has become one of the region's most anticipated cycling weekends while giving back to the community. Since its inception, the volunteer-led organization has donated more than $1 million to local schools, youth programs and nonprofit organizations.
Thanks to support from presenting sponsor Visit Big Bear, the Tour de Big Bear saw record-setting participation growth of more than 15 percent in 2025 and registration for 2026 is once again trending at record pace, with organizers expecting 4,000 participants and over 10,000 visitors throughout the weekend.
"Every year we continue to grow because riders love the unique experience of cycling in Big Bear," said event organizers. "Whether you're chasing podiums, enjoying your first cycling event, or bringing the family for a weekend escape in the mountains, Tour de Big Bear offers something for everyone."
Legendary Gran Fondo Returns
The Tour de Big Bear's signature Gran Fondo remains the heart of the weekend, featuring four scenic road rides ranging from 25 to 100 miles. Whether riders are looking for an approachable first fondo or tackling the ultimate challenge of 100 miles with 8,585 feet of climbing, every course showcases spectacular views through the San Bernardino National Forest while offering riders a welcome escape from Southern California's summer heat thanks to Big Bear's cool mountain temperatures and high-altitude setting.
Competitive riders can once again battle for cash prizes and awards in the iconic KOM/QOM climbing challenges on the legendary Onyx Summit climb.
Award-Winning Gravel and Expanded Mountain Bike Racing
The event's award-winning 25- and 50-mile Gravel Rides continue to showcase Big Bear's world-class mix of scenic fire roads and legendary singletrack, complete with cash prizes and KOM/QOM competitions.
New for 2026, mountain bike racing reaches a new level with a $5,000 cash purse awarded to the Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female finishers in the 50K Mountain Bike Race.
Continuing its commitment to growing the sport, all junior mountain bike racers ages 18 and under race FREE, encouraging more young athletes to experience competitive cycling. The weekend also recognizes the event's youngest participants with special Youngest Rider Awards.
More Brands Than Ever Before
The Tour de Big Bear Expo has experienced unprecedented growth and is nearly sold out, welcoming more than 50 cycling and outdoor brands to Bear Mountain Resort on Friday and Saturday.
