[Chicago, IL – January 30, 2026] — CABDA Midwest is set to open Wednesday this week, marking the largest iteration of the event since CABDA was restarted in 2015.

Strong retailer demand continues to define the show’s momentum, with more than 2,300 attendees from over 800 independent bicycle retailers taking advantage of free early registration. Due to high interest, early registration was extended by an additional week to accommodate shops planning to attend.

“Now more than ever, retailers are actively looking for new ways to stay profitable,” said CABDA Show Director Jim Kersten. “That means discovering different brands and products, building relationships with new suppliers, or identifying new services they can bring into their stores. CABDA is designed to bring all of that together in one place—products, education, and real conversations that help shops adapt and move forward.”

Education remains a cornerstone of the CABDA experience. The CABDA Midwest education schedule, organized and powered by the National Bicycle Dealers Association (NBDA), features more than fifty breakout sessions across two days. Programming covers critical topics for today’s specialty retailers, including shop profitability, professional bike fitting, sales and service best practices, and e-bike motor and battery diagnostics.

In addition to seminars, CABDA Midwest will feature extensive hands-on technical training designed specifically for mechanics and service departments. Field representatives from Shimano, TRP, SR Suntour, and Micromobility Connect will lead practical clinics focused on improving technical skills, troubleshooting efficiency, and overall service department performance.

CABDA Midwest also hosts the NBDA P2 Workshop, held immediately prior to the show. This two-day intensive program brings together shop owners and brand representatives from across the country for a deep dive into key areas of shop operations, financial performance, and long-term profitability. The P2 Workshop has become a draw in its own right, attracting retailers looking to arrive at the show better prepared and more strategically focused.

CABDA Midwest takes place Wednesday and Thursday, March 4–5 at the Schaumburg Convention Center, located in suburban Chicago.

After CABDA Midwest closes next Thursday, attention will turn to CABDA West (March 18 & 19), which moved from California to Las Vegas last year. The Las Vegas event has experienced significant year-over-year growth and will once again be preceded by an expanded NBDA Retailer Summit, continuing the organization’s focus on education, alignment, and support for independent bicycle retailers nationwide.
