The Italian company is committed to achieve the higher industry standards in sustainability whilst making all the data available to the public.

Cambiago, 11th February 2025 – Colnago, a global leader in high-end cycling, is proud to share its first ever Sustainability Report, highlighting the company's steadfast dedication to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and good governance. Developed in collaboration with Up2You, the report reflects the results of Colnago's sustainability efforts for the year 2023, providing transparency and insight into its ongoing journey towards a more sustainable future.

"We are excited to present our first comprehensive Sustainability Report, showcasing the significant progress we've made in our commitment to sustainability," said Nicola Rosin, CEO of Colnago. "For us, sustainability is not just a choice but an integral part of our values. Our strategy focuses on reducing our environmental impact, fostering an inclusive workplace, and enhancing governance practices. This report provides a clear picture of how we are achieving these goals and outlines our future objectives."

Key Achievements:

Environmental Impact: Colnago has made notable strides in reducing its carbon footprint, tracking greenhouse gas emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3.

  • Scope 1: These are direct emissions from owned or controlled sources. For Colnago, this includes emissions from natural gas use in operations and fuel for company vehicles. In 2023, Scope 1 emissions totaled 134.60 metric tons of CO2 equivalent.
  • Scope 2: These are indirect emissions from the generation of purchased electricity. In the 2023 report, Scope 2 emissions were reported at 125.65 metric tons of CO2 equivalent, based on the electricity purchased for operations.
  • Scope 3: These are other indirect emissions throughout the value chain, including emissions from the production of raw materials, transportation, and the use of the final products. For Colnago, Scope 3 accounted for 93% of total emissions in 2023, amounting to 3,506.35 metric tons of CO2 equivalent.

The collection of data, the calculation and monitoring of the Carbon Footprint, as well as the drafting of the Sustainability Report, have been simplified and accelerated by CliMax, Up2You's proprietary platform.

Colnago has also worked to minimize packaging waste, aiming to replace non-recyclable materials with eco-friendly alternatives, and continues to explore ways to eliminate plastic packaging.

  • Commitment to People: Colnago has implemented programs that prioritize the well-being of its employees, offering initiatives like flexible work hours, health and wellness benefits, and continuous training. The company also maintains a strong focus on inclusivity and diversity, ensuring a harmonious workplace.
  • Corporate Governance: Colnago has established robust governance practices, emphasizing ethical standards, transparency, and regulatory compliance. The company is in the process of finalizing its Code of Ethics to reinforce its commitment to responsible business practices.
  • Innovation in Materials: As part of its ongoing sustainability efforts, Colnago has engaged in cutting-edge research with partners such as Khalifa University and Politecnico di Milano to explore alternative materials and carbon fiber recycling technologies, further reducing environmental impact.
