Rinard brings decades of experience in wheel engineering, design, and testing to the Stan's tubeless wheel program.

17 October 2024 – (State College, Pennsylvania) - Damon Rinard has joined Stan's as Senior Mechanical Engineer, focusing on designing advanced wheels and wheel accessories for the legendary brand.

Damon comes to Stan's with deep industry experience having started his career at Kestrel in the 1990s and continuing with brands such Trek, Cervelo, and Cannondale.

In his role as Senior Mechanical Engineer at Stan's, Rinard will oversee the continued evolution of Stan's growing collection of advanced tubeless wheel designs, as well as managing the development of wheel accessories and other unique products designed to galvanize Stan's mission of improving the ride for cyclists everywhere.

"25 years ago, Stan's led the charge in creating the modern tubeless category. Bringing on an industry veteran like Damon with his track record of innovation, perfectly positions our product team to continue leading for the next 25 years," says Drew Hanna, Stan's Director of Product.

Rindard's passion for, and history of building and engineering, bicycle wheels reaches as far back as high school when he created a set of hand-built wheels as his senior project. Among the many accomplishments throughout his career, Rinard is particularly known for authoring and sharing the popular spocalc.xls spoke calculator, developing patented carbon fiber hubs ridden to multiple Tour de France victories and managing the design project that delivered the second fastest road bike wheels ever measured in the wind tunnel at the time, the HollowGram 64.

"I love bicycles and helping riders everywhere enjoy riding more. I'm happy to use my wheel engineering experience to further Stan's mission of improving the ride, and I look forward to working side by side with my new colleagues," explains Rinard.

Damon Rinard is based in Stan's office in State College, Pennsylvania, and can be reached at damon.rinard@stans.com.
