Following its debut coinciding with the historic Tour de France departure from Florence, the date has been set for the second edition of this event dedicated to cycling and bike tourism, organized by Pitti Immagine at Stazione Leopolda
June 2024 was just the beginning: BECYCLE, the event dedicated to the world of bicycles organized by Pitti Immagine at Stazione Leopolda in Florence, has officially begun the countdown to its second edition, which will take place from March 15 to 17, 2025, from Saturday to Monday.
Since the launch of the debut edition, coinciding with the historic "Grand Depart" of the Tour de France from the city of Florence, it was Pitti Immagine's intention to develop the BECYCLE project as a yearly fixture, finding a new spot on the calendar that would allow for the full expression of an original format, featuring talks and events with champions and industry stakeholders, leading brands in the cycling world, bike tourism, and outdoor destinations.
"After the debut last June," explains Agostino Poletto, General Manager of Pitti Immagine, "we engaged in discussions with companies, tourist boards, and several key stakeholders, including the media. BECYCLE's format was well received, and already in its first inception suggested there's plenty of potential yet to be fully developed. We believe that the new positioning between winter and spring, when cycling is gearing up for the classics season and bike tourism is focused on planning and promotion, will allow us to fully express it."
Paul's World of Cycling
This vision led to the selection of the new date, reaffirming BECYCLE's eclectic and original nature, representing the different ways of living and enjoying bicycles and their reciprocal connections: sport and competition, industry, research and design, lifestyle, wellness, new mobility and sustainable tourism.
From June 26 to 28, 2024 leading companies such as Colnago, Campagnolo, De Rosa, Assos, and Nalini, destinations like Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna, Piedmont – Langhe Monferrato Roero and Gran Canaria, and guests such as Paul Smith and Vincenzo Nibali, all responded to BECYCLE's call.
A debut in great style, and a building block towards the 2025 edition, that will also bring the event into the weekend for the first time, to gather cycling enthusiasts in all their forms. Obviously, the focus remains on operators - both in the cycling industry and in cycle tourism, with top international tour operators - to develop new growth paths.
