NBDA Canadian-Specific P2 Profitability Project Group to Host September Meeting in Cranbrook BC, invites Canadian Retailers to Join

Irvine, CA - August 11, 2023- The National Bicycle Dealers Association’s P2 Group Canada is excited to announce its upcoming meeting in September, to be held in the scenic town of Cranbrook, British Columbia. This gathering promises to be a pivotal event for bicycle retailers across Canada, as the association extends a warm invitation to other Canadian retailers to apply to be part of the P2 group and join at the in-person experience.

The P2 initiative, launched by NBDA in 2006, has been a driving force behind the success of specialty bicycle retailers. Its collaborative approach empowers retailers to enhance their sales strategies, boost profitability, and elevate the overall customer experience. Over the years, more than 100 retailers have participated in this program, reaping the benefits of shared insights and best practices. The retailers within the program engage in virtual monthly meetings and biannual in-person gatherings. During these sessions, participants can exchange, compare, and analyze specific business data, enabling them to collaborate on operational improvements and strategic planning.

"The Canadian group has a dynamic way of supporting one another - those looking to prepare best for 2024 should take advantage of joining the program now," stated Chad Pickard, Co-Moderator of NBDA P2 Group Canada.

Current P2 Canadian Group Member, Greg McDonald, GM of Ridley's Cycle commented, “The P2 groups I’m participating in have been incredibly helpful. It’s helped us save almost $85,000 in net profit by analyzing operating expenses, increased our service sales by collaborating and learning from another dealer by staffing to meet historical demand in the moment, and provided comparative metrics to see where we’re winning or losing. It’s been providing tons of benefits and I’ve grown close to the folks in our group, and it feels like there’s more people ‘in your corner’.”

Key highlights of the upcoming September meeting include:

  • Networking and Knowledge Sharing: Retailers from across Canada will have the chance to connect, exchange ideas, and learn from one another's experiences in the cycling market.
  • Interactive Retail Store Visit: Attendees will participate in a tour of a group members retail store and follow up with discussions focused on sales strategies, operational efficiencies, and customer engagement.
  • Scenic Cycling Opportunities: Cranbrook's stunning landscapes and cycling trails offer participants the chance to experience firsthand the beauty and potential of the cycling industry in the region.

Interested retailers, both established and newcomers, are encouraged to seize this unique opportunity to join the NBDA P2 Group Canada and be a part of the Canadian-specific P2 Profitability Project group. This collaborative effort promises to empower businesses, stimulate growth, and contribute to the advancement of the Canadian cycling retail sector.
