The partnership will make accessible Nix’s Hydration Biosensor and hydration education to all NCL teams and athletes to improve performance and safety while cycling.

Today, The National Cycling League (NCL) announced an official partnership with Nix Biosensors. This partnership celebrates the shared commitment of both companies in their continued efforts towards innovation in the field. The NCL launched last year and is committed to reimagining the future of sports with the first women- and minority-owned professional sports league in the United States dedicated to innovation, diversity, community, and sustainability.

Nix Biosensor is the first-ever consumer biosensor to analyze sweat and provide endurance athletes with personalized hydration data — scientifically validated and delivered in real-time. In 2022, Nix’s first product, the Nix Hydration Biosensor, was selected as an honorary mention in TIME's Best of Inventions, a winner of the CES Innovation Awards (Digital Health category) and Best New Product at The Running Event.

Proper hydration is critical to endurance athletes' performance and safety, especially in warmer months. Studies show that when athletes drink to thirst, they're replenishing only half of the fluids they've lost – incurring mild dehydration up to 80% of the time. With hydration intelligence like the Nix Hydration Biosensor, athletes no longer need to leave proper hydration to chance and can make informed decisions based on their unique sweat profile.

"We are thrilled to partner with the National Cycling League to advance the safety and performance of their athletes through the power of real-time sweat analysis," said Nix Biosensors CEO and Founder Meridith Cass. "At Nix, we look to align with partners who share our values around equity in sport, and who leverage cutting-edge technology that optimizes athlete performance. We are honored to work with such forward thinking leaders at NCL, and look forward to elevating the performance of NCL athletes."

For the NCL’s inaugural season Nix will be joining a fleet of other best-in-class team partners including Wahoo Fitness, TicketSocket, PowerBar Sports, Rudy Project, FSA/Vision, DeFeet, POC, Factor Bikes and GCN+. Athletes will be outfitted with the Nix Hydration Biosensor to use in both training and racing, with hydration education provided by Nix, to help them create their personalized hydration strategy.

"We are fortunate to have strong partners that help our athletes perform at their best. Nix’s mission to put health metrics into the hands of the user is in-line with the empowerment and innovation we look to provide to all NCL athletes. I look forward to working closely with the entire Nix team", said VP, Partnerships, Kelly Staley.

Among the upcoming races in the 2023 NCL Cup Series are Denver on August 13th and Atlanta on August 20th, at which point NCL athletes will have created their hydration strategy via training with the Nix Hydration Biosensor.
